WHY IS SUN PROTECTION SO IMPORTANT TO YOU?

“I truly feel like we end up exactly where we are meant to be. About 3 months after I started practicing as an aesthetician my doctor found a superficial melanoma. Since then I have had a second one.

"Sunscreen alone isn't enough. Especially here in Utah where our elevation is so high, the sun is in much stronger. People don’t reapply as often as they should, or don’t apply enough in general. Sunscreen rubs off, sweats off, and can be water resistant for a certain amount of time yes, but are you actually reapplying? No sunscreen blocks 100% of the sun, SPF 100 is deceiving. That's why I also love a good hat during the summer to help block harmful rays."

"Teddy, in any color.. for sun though, anything wide brim that’s going to protect my face and neck. Opal is such a good one for days at the lake paddle boarding, or on a boat.

I’m also obsessed with the new Oakley for summer. It’s so perfect for that true western vibe we all love. 

Faye is stunning for every day, perfect for brunch or the farmers market, and can we just talk about the Jolie!! Like insane for the beach or a resort, it’s so chic and offers tons of protection."

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR SUN DAMAGED SKIN?

"Chemical peels, microneedling, lasers. It depends on the person and their skin type. Not everyone is a laser candidate. But also at home care, products make a huge difference. I love the 80/20 nutrition / exercise example. You are taking care of your skin every day at home, but only seeing your aesthetician once every 4ish weeks."
