Not all heroes wear capes - - - some carry reusable bags + metal straws.
We believe that one person can inspire change + it’s the everyday small decision that truly make a difference. Not only is being environmentally conscious better for all of us but it can also be easier on the wallet. Here are five very easy ways that you can make a conscious effort to make planet earth a better place.
Try to carpool.
By carpooling just twice a week, 1,600 pounds of greenhouse gases can be kept out of the air each year + taking the HOV lane can cut your commute time down by as much as half. And who knows? Maybe you’ll make a new friend or two along the way!
Get a reusable mug or tumbler for your coffee runs.
Invest in metal straws.
It's estimated that we use over 500 million plastic straws a day + most of those end up in our oceans, polluting the water and killing marine life. And if you plan on diving deeper into how plastic straws can hurt marine life, have some tissue on hand. The pictures alone will break your heart.
Keep a small reusable tote in your purse for quick trips to the store.
If every person in New York City used one less grocery bag, it would cut waste by 5 million pounds and save $250,000 in disposal costs. Imagine if the whole world did it?
Limit your shower time.
Every time you shave minutes off your use of hot water, you also save energy and keep dollars in your pocket. Save some $$$ + the world at the same time.
